Cherry stone and sweet cherry, with initial ripeness and an intense “Morgonish" character. The palate reveals a structure that combines finesse with density. With controlled fullness and has a tannin that is still developing. Also good, lively acidity.

WINEMAKING: Underground, natural cellar. The Chamonard domain has half a hectacre in the area known as La Madone. The land here owes its name to the statue of the Virgin perched at 400 metres altitude on top of the chapel that overlooks the best hill in Fleurie. This land enjoys a south facing aspect and a terroir of pink granite where the vines’ roots bury deep. The vines are between 60 and 90 years old which gives the fruit an intense concentration. The resulting wines have tight tannins with floral and black fruit aromas. It can be enjoyed young but it will certainly enhance with age.
