SOIL: Alluvial fan soil of shale and deep eroded sandstone. Sourcing for this appellation blend is from Saveria Vineyard as well as the Ferrari Vineyard (formally Woodruff), each ~8 miles north of the Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Saveria is regularly harvested a full month after most of the Sonoma Coast and Russian River. Each vineyard is meticulously farmed by superstar viticulturist Prudy Fox.
WINEMAKING: The wine underwent primary fermentation using native yeats that included about 30% whole clusters. The grapes were pressed to barrel for native malolactic fermentation in neutral oak. Aged 13 months in neautral, French oak barrels.
